Scott Walker Survived His Recall

Walker won not despite his refusal to compromise but because of it. Did you forget these little facts from the exit polls? On the exit poll, just 27 percent of the voters judged recall elections appropriate for any reason, but 60 percent said they are appropriate only for official misconduct and 10 percent said recalls are never appropriate. Walker won those in the middle category by more than a two-to-one margin. It would seem to me that he won because people thought that the recall was inappropriate, little to do with his convictions and refusal to compromise. Remember that Obama wins the exit poll by 7 points over Romney, and that poll is of actual voters, you know who voted. That is an indication that they are not buying into Walker and the GOP. For my take the unions have to learn to perform for those who do the actual work, they shouldn't be there just to protect anyone's job, but the job of those who do the work. That is they need to cut the members who are gaming the system, even union members recognize this fact, 37% of union members voted for Walker. The Unions lost, the recall was for the wrong reason.
